DesignKith is a design recruitment practice run by Rutvik Rao in Bengaluru, India. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written plainly on purpose.

If you are hiring

What we collect: your name, work email, company, the role you are hiring for, the budget for it, and anything you send us such as a job description or notes from a call.

Why: to understand the role and run the search. Nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for, and we do not share it with other companies.

If you are a designer

What we collect: your name and contact details, your CV or portfolio, your work history, what you are looking for, your current and expected compensation, and notes from our conversations.

Why: to put you forward for roles.

Who sees it: the specific company we are introducing you to, and only after we have told you who they are and you have agreed. We do not send your details to a company you have not said yes to.

We also write an evaluation of your work, which goes to that company along with your details. You can ask to see what we have written about you, and we will send it to you.

How long we keep it

Candidate records: two years from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to remove them sooner or ask us to keep you on file for longer.

Client records: for as long as we are working together, and afterwards for as long as Indian tax and contract law requires us to keep business records.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it — one email. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

We will respond within seven working days.

If you are not happy with how we have handled a request, write to us first at[email protected] — we are the grievance contact — and you can escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
